London Living Wage Success at the Royal Opera House

Back around Christmas we received disturbing reports that DOC Cleaning Limited had decided to withhold the Living Wage Foundation's recent London Living Wage increase from cleaners at the Royal Opera House.

Back around Christmas we received disturbing reports that DOC Cleaning Limited had decided to withhold the Living Wage Foundation's recent London Living Wage increase from cleaners at the Royal Opera House.

This is an increase to which the cleaners are entitled, having fought a long battle for it in 2019.

We are pleased to announce that on January 21st the Opera House confirmed in response to our enquiries that the situation with DOC had been resolved – once again in favour of our members. They will shortly be receiving the increase, bringing their pay up to £11.05 per hour, backdated to December 1st.

We are grateful to the Opera House for the support they have given to our members.
