CAIWU member Guillermo Camacho has been dismissed from Facebook

Today, cleaning supervisor Guillermo Camacho was dismissed from his job at Facebook.

It had been coming for a long time, since Guillermo helped organise a protest at Facebook's Brock Street offices on 21st July 2021 against the cleaners' impossible workloads.

Guillermo's employer, Churchill Cleaning, and Facebook's facilities management company JLL have worked together to get rid of Guillermo through a so-called third-party pressure dismissal. JLL exercised its contractual right to require the removal of anybody it doesn't like from the property it manages, and Churchill failed to find Guillermo suitable alternative employment.
