About Us

We are the national union of cleaners. We believe that every human being is entitled to dignity and respect in the workplace, and it is our mission to help our members fight for this basic right, along with others like fair pay, terms and working conditions.

CAIWU stands united in strong solidarity with Luz Ocampo and Millerlady Munoz. Luz Ocampo, a dedicated union representative, was dismissed at Meta's King Cross site despite her longer tenure, following public remarks on redundancy. Meanwhile, Sister Millerlady Munoz faced dismissal at Brock Street over an expired warning from three months prior. These actions underscore Meta's disregard for union rights and fair treatment.

The union triumph at Kings Chelsea Estates is a proud moment for our members, reflecting their hard work and unity. They have won a backdated living wage, a guaranteed pay rise every November, three consecutive weeks of holiday, new uniforms, and the right to keep residents' tips.
